GEKONNT, ABER NIE ROUTINE
Immanuel Witschi, das ist einmal der versierte Pianist, der sein Jazzrepertoire und mehr mit viel Freude und spielerischer Kraft beherrscht.
Nie Routine, nie seicht! Bei ihm hat man das Gefühl, bei jedem Auftritt an einer Premiere teilzunehmen.
Immanuel Witschi, das ist auch der Tastenzauberer, der die Improvisation nicht nur als Stilelement benutzt, sondern losgelöst treiben lässt.
Man hört ihm zu, fasziniert von seinen Ideen die er fast bildlich entwickelt, und denkt unweigerlich an den Seiltänzer, der sich ohne Balancierstange auf seinem dünnen Seil bewegt und glücklich vergessen lässt, dass hier nicht nur Können, sondern auch viel Arbeit dahinter steckt.
Und wie beim Künstler auf dem Seil bleibt die beklemmende Frage, ob er heil ankommt. Keine Sorge, das tut er!
Über 300 Konzerte
2004 he becomes resident pianist and technician at the Theatre Johana in Zurich and takes part in productions of the Salon Theatre Herzbaracke, as well as having gigs with his instant jazz combo in the Cafe Memphis in Zurich.
2009 Immanuel Witschi holds his first fully improvised solo concert in his atelier before continuing with 2 show projects for the Salon Theatre Herzbaracke and weekly bar piano performances at the L'heure bleue cafe in Zurich.
He gives in July 2011 his 2nd fully improvised solo concert in the Café Apart in Zurich.
